P resident Joe Biden took to Twitter on Tuesday to blast Sen. Rick Scott (R-FL) for his attempt to put Social Security and Medicare "on the chopping block."

Scott tweeted earlier that day that he had personally visited the White House to hand-deliver printed copies of his Rescue America plan. While its website touts it as a 12-point plan including policy propositions on equality, taxes, immigration, elections, religion, debt, regulations on "Big Tech," and more, Scott was photographed outside the presidential residence with an 11-point plan.

"[Biden] said he wished he had enough copies of my Rescue America plan, so I stopped by the White House today to make sure he did," Scott wrote. "Thanks for spreading the word, Joe!"

"Couldn’t agree more, Rick," Biden responded in a tweet. "And if anyone else wants to read your plan to put Social Security and Medicare on the chopping block, they should go to http://joebiden.com/rickscottsplan. Thanks for stopping by."

The link Biden posted was seemingly down, with the website crashing as soon as it was clicked on. Its homepage, joebiden.com, produced similar results.

"Thanks again for sharing, Joe!" Scott responded Wednesday. "Anyone that reads my plan will see right through your lies. While you’ve tried to cut Social Security & just slashed $280B from Medicare, I’m fighting to protect these programs. Remind us what your plan is to do that?"

Scott was referring to the Inflation Reduction Act, which Biden signed into law in August, which cut the cost of Medicare by $280 billion dollars, which Scott claimed "was anticipated to be spent. It’s not going to be spent" during a television interview.

"The drug companies that will be doing more research are not going to be able to spend the money on research. There will be life-saving drugs that seniors will not get," Scott said at the time.

Biden's tweet prompted a number of responses, with many Twitter users referring to the president as "Dark Brandon," a nickname that is derived from the slogan "Let's Go Brandon," stemming from a NASCAR race in which a journalist misreported the chant "F*** Joe Biden."

"President Biden is completely fed up with the MAGA Republicans," podcaster Dash Dobrofsky tweeted. "He just called out Rick Scott — by name — for wanting to cut Social Security & Medicare from working families. He publicly shamed Rick into submission. The gloves are off. Dark Brandon is delivering the blue wave."

"'I'm Mitch McConnell, and I approve this message,'" Lincoln Project founder Rick Wilson tweeted, in reference to the Senate leader's open disapproval of Scott's plan. As a result, Scott has voiced his opinion on new leadership in the Senate to replace McConnell.
